About the Tingtun PDF checker
We care about inclusion and have developed a PDF checker that runs a set of essential tests to find barriers that may prevent people with disabilities from accessing PDF documents properly.
This checker service supports authors and others in improving the accessibility of PDF documents. Implemented tests are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), from W3C
The Tingtun PDF checker has been provided free of charge and developed in a sequence of research projects starting out from the EIAO project supported by the European Union in 2008. Since then we have made improvements and extensions in the eGovMon project supported by the Research Council of Norway, the European Internet Inclusion Initiative (EIII) supported by the EU. Subsequent versions and refactoring have been developed in the project "WTKollen" supported by the Swedish Post and Telecom authority, and the current version is developed in the "PDF Checker II" project supported by The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir).
Please contact us if you encounter any problems or if you would like to integrate the checker into your application.
